Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

DSC_9991We believe the Bible is God’s inspired, written Word to man, without error in the original manuscripts, and is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe in one true God who is the Creator of all things.  Eternally existing in three persons, The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, is perfect in love and righteousness in all His ways.

We believe God made man in His image that He might have fellowship with him.  Because of man’s disobedience, sinful man is incapable of a right relationship to God apart from divine grace.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate and is coming soon.  The only mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ our Lord.

We believe by His death in our place, Jesus revealed the divine love and upheld divine justice, removing our guilt and reconciling us to God.  All men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross.

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, through the proclamation of the Gospel, renews our hearts, persuading us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord.  By the same Spirit, we are led to trust in divine mercy, whereby we are forgiven all our sins, justified by faith through the merit of Christ our Savior, adopted into God’s family as His children and enabled to live in the world that men may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven.

We believe, God, by His Word and Spirit, calls sinful men into the fellowship of Christ’s body, the church, united in the bonds of love, endowed with the gifts of the Spirit and summoned by Christ to preach the Gospel and to administer the sacraments, to relieve human need and to strive for social justice.

We believe in using every possible, modern means of communication to us to help others experience the meaning and hope available through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
